I am very beginner, and need to know how to make a shape with other shapes inside it. When I try, it only allows me to put in one line, then when I put in another, it erases the first one.

I'm not exactly sure what you were doing so I will just explain how to create shapes inside other shapes. When the Shape Tool (short cut U) is used, it creates each shape on a new layer. The visibility of a shape depends on its order in the layer. Higher layers are displayed over lower layers; this can be seen in the image below. The color of the shape can be change by clicking on the color box in the layer; see below.

If you're using the pen tool, check to see if you are on "deletion" mode. There are several modes for drawing shapes that achieve different things. You can find them in the top menu. Don't be afraid to play around until you get your desired result - you'll discover things that may come in handy in the future in the process. Good luck. |
