I traced a drawing with the pen tool in photoshop and now I want to color it. I want to know how to use the paint bucket tool to color certain parts of my paths without stroking the paths first.

  1. Add a new layer and make sure it is selected
  2. In the path list, right click on your path and choose 'Make Selection...'
  3. Fill your selection with the paint bucket tool

Note: if you do not want to fill the whole path you can:

  1. duplicate the path, modify it, turn it into a selection
  2. modify the selection (hint quick mask [Q] is very useful)
