I need to crop a picture by 2" by 2", exactly. My professor mentioned using the marquee tool and inputting the values, but I don't know how to bring up the window.

  1. Make a selection with the rectangular marque tool.
  2. Click: Select > Transform Selection
  3. Type "2 in" in the W and H boxes (they are on the toolbar at the top and they default to 100%)
  4. Hit enter twice or click the big check mark on the right side of the tool bar

Now you have a selection that is 2" by 2". Position it anywhere you like, then copy and paste into a new file.
